Once the lot is surveyed and everything is approved, the lot is cleared of unnecessary trees and roughly excavated to prepare for the footers. 

Depending on the lot it is sometimes necessary to cut in a road and/or build up retaining walls in the dirt.

This phase takes 1-2 weeks.
